Festival season is here! From July 11-14, enjoy performances and events at the fourth-annual Southend Fringe Festival. Growing in size since 2016, the Southend Fringe Festival has integrated itself into the heart of Southend-on-Sea and continues to raise interest in the town’s artistic culture. Don’t miss out on a weekend full of Shakespeare, music, and puppetry at this entertaining, family-friendly festival.

You also won’t want to miss Village Green 2019. This eclectic music festival is held in Chalkwell’s picturesque Victorian Park on July 13th. The festival features multiple stages, marketplaces, rose gardens, outdoor artworks, workshops, and even a circus, so the entire family can enjoy moving and grooving under the sun.


Leave the animal products behind and visit the 2019 Southend Vegan Fair, held at Greenways Primary School on August 3. Get your ultimate gluten-free and vegan fix from the hundreds of treats on offer. Come for the food and stay for the educational talks, live music, health products, kids’ area, and vegan-friendly beer sellers.

Close out the summer with the annual Southend Carnival, held on August 17 from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Southend Seafront. Head there early and grab a good spot to watch the illuminated floats, drummers, dancers, colorful costumes, live music, and more. One of Southend-on-Sea’s largest community events, it’s a party you won’t want to miss.
